Bespoke Greenhouse Heating Systems

Greenhouse Heating Systems

In a greenhouse, the system used needs to last in a hot, humid and potentially corrosive environment. We use high quality galvanised steel pipes/heaters which are ideally suited for a glasshouse. The pipes / heaters are located, to distribute the heat efficiently and evenly, and are finned to give the high outputs required.

They are installed around the perimeter of the glasshouse, which is where heat is lost, and/or in heating ducts in the floor covered by our cast iron grates

The pipes all deliver a consistent heat output, with the volume of pipes / heaters installed delivering the lift required.

Electric Greenhouse Heating Systems

  • For greenhouses between 15-30m² we recommend the slow convected heat that is produced by our electrical tubular heaters, which deliver a uniform heat distribution.
  • Use galvanised steel heaters, which have been selected for their strength, longevity and quality of heat output.
  • Have heaters typically mounted around the edge of the glasshouse where the cooling takes place or within ducts positioned in front of soil planting beds.
  • Use accurate air temperature sensors for precise control.
  • Are made up of several key quality components:  Electric finned tubular heaters,  controllers, & aspirated sensors

Hot Water Glasshouse Heating Systems

  • For larger (+30m²) and/or multi-zonal greenhouses the optimum heating system is hot water based. When installed with a quality boiler a hot water system delivers modulated heat more effectively than other solutions.
  • Are the best system when high temperatures are required and / or when the outside temperature is very cold.
  • Use galvanised steel pipes which have been selected for their strength, longevity and quality of heat output.
  • Have pipes typically mounted around the edge of the glasshouse where the cooling takes place or within ducts positioned in front of soil planting beds.
  • Use accurate air temperature sensors for precise control.
  • Are made up of several key quality components:   Finned heating pipes,   mixing groups,   controllers,   aspirated sensors  &  a heat supply.

Maintenance & Servicing

As with all heating systems, its ongoing effective operation depends on its continued high performance.

We recommend that Harrier Garden Developments carries out the commissioning of the system after we have installed it.

Thereafter we offer an ongoing annual system check to ensure optimum levels of performance and reliability are maintained.

During the visit we will service all elements of the system (this may or may not include the boiler) helping to ensure its effective operation for another twelve months.
