Benching (often referred to as staging) can be both highly practical and beautifully decorative. It enables you to showcase beautiful plants while helping growers optimise the conditions within the greenhouse to support excellent growth and long-term plant health.
Custom Aluminium & Victorian Cast Iron Staging
Our greenhouse benching can be created using long-lasting, modern aluminium frames or traditional Victorian cast iron staging. Your options are dependent on the material chosen, but configurations include:
- Two-shelf or tiered options (ideal for display)
- Deep-sided options
- High-level shelving (often known as strawberry boards)
To ensure the best growing environment, all our benching is supplied with hydroleca. This absorbs and releases water to enable proper drainage, whilst providing a highly stable surface for your potted plants.
Heated Benching for Propagation
For growers looking to give their seedlings a head start, we also supply thermostatically controlled heat mats and heat cables. These are integrated directly into the benching to create additional, targeted heat to significantly aid the propagation process.
Restoration & Repair Services
As part of numerous historic restoration projects, we regularly repair original bench legs, re-weld cast iron staging supports, and accurately refit timber sides to match the original aesthetic.
On some occasions, we have even been commissioned to create completely bespoke, solid oak staging for premium display houses.
