Chelsea Physic Garden was founded in 1673 by The Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London for its apprentices to study medicinal plants. Today the plant collection is unique as being the only botanic garden focussed on medicinal, herbal and useful plants. The beautiful extensive glasshouses contain many of these specimens.
Harrier Garden developments was asked to supply traditional handmade cedar shades to offer shading / cooling for plants and visitors into the greenhouses during the summer months, whilst also delivering a solution which would add to the aesthetic beauty of the glasshouses themselves, and help plants thrive.
As part of what Harrier Garden Developments offer to clients we have worked to remediate and maintain the cedar shades ever since installation. Supporting the team at Chelsea Physic and all our clients is something we value highly.
